This page contains a list of the available Agent characters, along with instructions on how to download each one.

Please note that most of these characters have been upgraded to version 2. If you have the prior version installed for use with Christmas Browser 97 then you should upgrade to the new versions listed on this page.

Advanced users may want to see the technical note at the bottom of this page for information about .ACX files.

Merlin

Merlin is included with the standard distribution of Christmas Browser, so you probably already have a copy of him installed on your system and therefore don't need to download him again. Unregistered users of Christmas Browser can only use the Merlin agent character. Download: Download and run this setup program.

Technical note about .ACX files -- for advanced users:
Christmas Browser 99 uses our MaxAgent technology, which provides extra information about each Agent character. This extra information is contained in a file with an extension of .ACX, and is necessary because the standard character data file (.ACS extension) doesn't include all of the information that we need to fully use the Agent. Christmas Browser 99 won't be able to use an .ACS file unless there's a matching .ACX file in the same directory! All of the above character distributions are setup programs which will install the character's .ACX file and .ACS file into the appropriate directory (usually C:\Windows\MSAgent\Chars). If you've already got the character's .ACS file and just need the .ACX file then you can grab them from here and put them into the same directory as each .ACS file.
